The first JBoss User Group - OWL meeting took place on 20 March 2012 at S & N in Paderborn, Germany.
Around 20 users of JBoss Technologies from different companies and industries met at the launch event. During the introductions, the importance of direct contacts at the regional level in an increasingly connected world was stressed repeatedly.
The main topic for the first meeting was the JBoss AS7/EAP6. In his presentation, Wolf Dieter Fink (RedHat) introduced: “JBoss AS7.x - the slightly different JBoss”, the newly-developed application server with a focus on performance, modularity, configuration, and operation. Although the server was only recently made available, there were already a number of AS7-experiences to share.
After an exchange lasting more than three hours, there was a unanimous desire to continue holding the JBoss user group meetings on a regular basis. The next one will be on 19 June 2012 and will again be held in the offices of S & N AG. There will be a central theme once again along with an interesting presentation. Details are published on the Group home page: https://community.jboss.org/groups/jbug-owl.
We look forward to seeing you at the next JBoss User Group meeting.
